  1. Be sure that you schedule a makeup trial before your wedding. Your bridal session is the perfect opportunity to get this done. It is very important for you to feel comfortable on your special day and not second-guess the look you’re going for.

  2. Take into consideration the season you will be getting married in. You do not want to choose something too dewy for a summer wedding or something too flat for a winter wedding.

  3. When choosing colors, it’s advised to go with neutral tones such as browns, bronze, taupes, grays, etc.  Try to stay away from the “Instagram” makeup looks. Keep in mind that pictures last forever and you will want to look timeless, so keep it simple yet glamorous.

  4. If you plan to go with a bold lip, do a soft eye and if you want dramatic eyes, go with a soft lip.  Unfortunately, your makeup artist will not be with you throughout your wedding night, we encourage brides to keep a lipstick, gloss, oil papers, or compact with you for touch ups.

  5. Try to drink plenty of water the day before your special day so that your skin is hydrated and ready for your makeup application. Your skin will be prepped and primed before the make application begins. Brides should be relaxed and stressed free.

  6. Be sure to set aside about 45 minutes to an hour for makeup application. Most makeup artists are perfectionists when it comes to detail and will take their time do to make their brides look stunning. Relax, trust your artist, and refrain from getting up from the makeup chair.

7. Lastly, remember to wear a button-up shirt or robe for easy removal. You don’t want to get makeup on your dress.
