Lacey + John | Wedding Recap

Every wedding reveals a one-of-a-kind story and the marriage of Lacey and John is no different. While the act of online dating can seem pretty daunting for some, this act of courtship did not prove to be amiss; they have a chemistry that is unmatched. The couple’s November nuptials at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort felt like a magical world away.  

Lacey and John said “I do” at a ceremony held in the Windmill Plaza in a 3,500 square-foot outdoor courtyard. Life-sized, winter white trees made of extended, curly willow branches with faux snow and hanging votives decked the altar. Family and friends surrounded the couple forming a semi-circle across a wood-burning fireplace.

Immediate family, bridal party of 24, and ring bearer preceded the most darling flower girl you’ll ever meet; she illuminated the aisle in a white tulle sleeveless dress while tossing fresh, white rose petals onto the floor. Anticipation filled the air. Then. White tiers of ruffles accenting her mermaid silhouette gown, embellished with rhinestones, Lacey made her procession escorted by her father. Emotions ran deep for all as the couple read their handwritten vows. Nobody was filled with more emotion than her father as they shared a first-look moments before the ceremony.

During cocktail hour, guests partook in wide-array of alcoholic beverages as trays of tomato, pesto and mozzarella on garlic crostinis, beef kabobs with tabasco sour-gum glaze, crab cakes with mustard seed remoulade and horseradish remoulade, and crisp chicken empanadas with avocado ranch crema were passed.

The romantic interlude continued as 200 guests entered the Fredericksburg Ballroom for the reception. A mix of large and small floral bouquets atop tall crystal candelabras and trio sets of silver, mercury candlesticks were at the center of all guest tables. The head table stretched 42 seats long and showcased the bride and groom on an elevated platform in the center.

The newlyweds took center-stage as they were soon encompassed by a “dancing on a cloud” feature as they danced to In case You Didn’t Know, by Andrew Boyce.

A blessing was led by their officiant, Terry Smith, followed by a seated dinner: a duet of beef tenderloin and chile rubbed chicken served with mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus, honey and cumin glazed carrots and peppercorn sauce.

Between the formal dances, cake cutting, toasts, and the photo booth, guests didn’t hold back when it came to throwing it down on the dance floor. They danced to some throwback tunes, hip hop, and some country favorites. It seemed as though Lacey and John never left the dance floor. This wedding was nothing short of spectacular.  

As the evening came to a close, the bride and groom were ready for their big send-off. They made their way down a patio terrace staircase, into a man-made sparkler tunnel, and waved goodbye from their getaway-gulf cart.

The newlyweds’ nuptials dreams continued to come true as they headed off to Bora, Bora!
