A love story 12 years in the making, Christa and Marco were brought together by fate. The two met at Our Lady of the Lake University and the rest is history. The couple wed on July, 7, 2019 in front of 150 family and friends at St. Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church. The traditional Catholic ceremony consisted of the exchange of the vows, the blessing and exchange of the rings, along with gifts including items such as: arras, el lasso, a rosary, and a bible given to the couple by los padrinos (god-parents).
“Las arras” are coins representing Christ and his 12 apostles symbolizing trust. Marco made a promise to trust Christa with his finances and she promised to take this trust with care and prudence. The “lasso” is a large loop of rosary beads that is placed around the necks of the couple. The loop is a symbol of love that binds them as they share the responsibility of marriage. These sentiments combined with the lovesome vows formed an unforgettable wedding ceremony.
The ceremony was followed by a cocktail hour and reception held at The Oaks at Heavenly located in Helotes. An extravagant, Swarovski Crystal, gold-plated chandelier hangs above the dance floor, while a floral wall lit up the back wall creating a romantic ambiance during dinner and dancing. Breathtaking, pink and white rose centerpieces atop gold harlow stands adorned the tables of the bridal party and immediate family. Short and tall coordinating centerpieces along with an abundance of candles illuminated the guest tables.
Mariachi Las Coronelas accompanied the newlyweds during their grand entrance. Christa and Marco were serenaded as guests were served the famous Heavenly Stuffed Chicken, with a heavenly baby spinach salad, feta basil mashed potatoes, and balsamic asparagus catered by Heavenly Gourmet, The Oaks at Heavenly’s parent company.
The couple opened the dance floor with their first dance, Beautiful Crazy by Luke Holmes. A father-daughter dance, mother-son dance, and a dollar dance were just the beginning of what was to follow.
La Hora Loca. “La hora loca” translates to “the crazy hour!” And boy was it a crazy hour as their high-energized guests filled the dance floor. Guests didn’t hold back when it came to throwing it down on the dance floor with multi-colored glow sticks and foam sticks in-hand. This display was nothing short of spectacular.
As the evening came to a close, the couple cut into a luxe, 4-tiered cake with layers covered in gold. The cake was completed with pink and white cascading roses. Guests enjoyed a photo booth and late night street tacos.
Festive sparklers sent off the bride and groom into a limousine where their guests bid them a farewell. The couple dreams continued to come true as they headed off to Cancun for their honeymoon.
