Ashley and Justin’s three-day affair at Remi's Ridge at Hidden Falls began with a rehearsal dinner taking place on-site at the Treehouse. The bash ran through nightfall where the couple took advantage of the venue’s on-site lodging.
The duo met serendipitously in a Biology course the two took. As it turns out, Justin’s seemingly only purpose in occupying a seat next to Ashley was to fall deeply in love with her as he went on to pursue a career as a prominent attorney (having nothing to do with natural science).
With rain on Friday evening, and a cold 54 degrees on Saturday afternoon, nothing could put a damper on the happy couple’s celebration. A Hampton Collection three-post arch with white chiffon draping dressed the alter with a breathtaking waterfall backdrop. Melodies of a trio of violinists serenaded nearly 300 guests preceding the processional.
The ravishing bride walked down the aisle in a long-sleeve, A-line fitted, lace gown. The blushing groom awaited at the altar with passionate tears in his eyes. There was not a dry eye from their family and friends as the couple proclaimed tear-jerking handwritten vows.
After the couple were introduced as Mr. and Mrs., the ballroom doors opened. Displays of short and tall ivory hydrangea and larkspur bouquets sat atop glass vases surrounded by tiered vases and votives with ivory floating and tea light candles centered guest tables. Guests enjoyed appetizers of bacon-wrapped jalapeno shrimp and parmesan chicken skewers. The newlyweds drink offerings included signature drinks in honor of the bride, groom, and their dog Sophia for a cute, personal touch.
Introductions of the bridal party and Mr. and Mrs. led Ashley and Justin into their first dance - I Can’t Help Falling In Love by the King of Rock and Roll, Mr. Elvis Presley. A heartfelt blessing by Justin’s grandfather commenced a mouthwatering, sit-down dinner provided by Milestone Catering.
Amidst the non-stop dancing, the bride and groom cut into a three-tiered cake adorned with cascading fresh roses and a three-tiered, sports-themed cake featuring the groom’s favorite teams: Spurs, New York Yankees, and Texans. Decadent sweets to include mini cheesecakes, cookies, macarons, and shooters filled the dessert bar not far away.
Other notable moments were the profound words from two of the groom’s best men and the bride’s maid of honor and sister, matron of honor, as they toasted to the newlyweds. A photo booth, bouquet and garter toss were enjoyed by all.
The couple ended the night with a last dance to another oldie favorite, The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. Guests left with a bag in-hand filled with his and her favorite snacks to include: flaming hot cheetos, sour patch kids, Skittles sour candy, and popcorn, to name a few. Holiday-themed koozies were handed out that read “‘Tis the Season to be Married’ - the perfect favor for their December nuptials. The newlyweds waved goodbye with a sparkler send off.
Justin and Ashley, immediate family, and friends prolonged their celebration with a catered Sunday Brunch at the Hampton Inn in Bulverde.
