Arika + Zack | Wedding Recap

By way of fate and a little help from mutual friends, Arika and Zach were paired to be a good match. A game of sand volleyball brought the two together with Zach making a bold move in requesting Arika to play on his team. Both ended up winning in the game of love.

The two wed in a charming open-air chapel equally as stunning as the reception barn-ballroom at Chandelier of Gruene. Two large bouquets of fresh floral in shades of ivory, burgundy, plum, and purple sat atop tall crystal candelabras framing the altar. Large picture windows stood behind the altar giving view to an oak tree living more than 100-years old.

A vision of perfection entered the chapel in a gorgeous, Whittington gown. The gorgeous bride walked down the aisle and met her Prince Charming. The two locked eyes with ear-to-ear grins captivating the hearts of 250 of their closest friends and family members including their bridal party of 20. Vows were exchanged and they were pronounced Mr. & Mrs. They made their way back out through the elegant, antique chapel doors, but not before ringing the church bells announcing their marriage.

Guests entered the ballroom through iron doors, each side accented with lanterns. They were enchanted at first sight as a large, glittering cascading chandelier was unveiled. The interior ballroom boasts rustic elegance with it’s cathedral ceiling and exposed wood beams. The couple opted for a U-shaped head table dressed with blush sequence linens, tall candelabra candles, and florals. Each guest table was adorned with crystal-accented Christmas trees, lanterns, candles, and other holiday-themed ornaments.

All enjoyed appetizers consisting of salsa samplers with deep fried tortilla chips, red salsa, black bean and corn salsa, cilantro salsa and queso. And no cocktail hour is complete without the fun-filled photo booth.

Bridal party introductions were made as the newlyweds made their way onto the dance floor. They danced harmoniously to Better Today by Coffee Anderson for their first dance.

A palate-pleasing dinner of southwest stuffed chicken with an ancho cream sauce, gouda mashed potatoes haricot verts with bacon and brown sugar homemade rolls were served. Treasured memories of the bride and groom were presented through a slideshow while guests enjoyed their meal.

Toasts by the best man, sister, and brother of the bride brought laughter and joy to the room. A traditional father/daughter and mother/groom dance was followed by a lovely dance with her brother. They danced in memory of the bride’s great-grandparent’s whose anniversary fell on that very same day. They built their love from the ground up for 71 blessed years. A remarkable milestone to aspire to.

At the request of the groom, Steve Earle’s Copperhead Road opened up the dancefloor. Two-step and other favorite line dances kept guests on their feet the entire night. Intervening the dance party, the couple sliced into their cakes and tossed the bouquet and garter into a crowd of bachelors and bachelorettes. A candy bar, doughnuts aplenty, and a hot chocolate bar hit the sweet spot. Completing the wintery, intimate atmosphere, blankets were made available outside on the patio. Rocking chairs surrounded an oversized gas pit with string lights overhead.

As Aggie alumni, the Aggie War Hymn was a must to end the evening. The singing, chanting, and dancing by guests did not disappoint.

The revelry of the night came to a dreamy end as the newlyweds shared a private dance to Together by Josh Ward. They embraced and danced in a cloud of low lying fog. Arika now wearing a dazzling, gold gown owned the dance floor as Zach twirled her around and around. It was a moment I’m certain they never wanted to end.

Festive sparklers sent off the bride and groom as they stepped out in sophisticated flair with a classic bentley awaiting their departure. The were driven off into the night and then enjoyed a honeymoon in Hawaii.
